Unhealthy for snowflakes.

We’ve “improved” to 295 this morning, but the sky is definitely lighter than the past couple days, which gives me optimism this will blow through in the next couple days.

Not enjoying this one bit.

Pfft, sissies!
I was just glad that we’re at 345 now. Even see the sun poking through a bit!
Has consistently been over 500 the last few days up here in Portlandia :(

Down to 320 here which is still hazardous but it’s trending the right way so it’s encouraging. Can’t wait for the skys to be blue again.

Yeah it is getting better, not good enough for the dog park close to us but maybe 30min away at another one.

Whatever, all those numbers and tests are just lies by the deep state meant to steal our freedoms. The sky wouldn’t be orange if the lamestream media would turn off their projectors on it. It’s amazing how many in this country hate freedom loving americans, and tell whatever lie they need to get control .
(It’s really embarrassing that I have to mark this as sarcasm. We’re in a deep hole, I hope this country can climb out of it somehow)

It was the worst this past week, it is getting better, I have no idea if it’s just how the wind is blowing or not. We need to hike and get in the water, I’m eating cheese and things may get worse in other ways if this doesn’t end soon!

Airnow take a 24hr average from what I heard, it is not showing anything close to what my monitor is saying here. I have a ten minute average on mine outside and it’s showing 61, but Airnow says over 100.

Alaska airlines is actually canceling flights out of Portland to oregon towns and spokane because of the smoke.

SF is fully yellow right now!

I’ m in the same boat, haven’t jogged since Thursday, and even then I’d slow down every several blocks due to running out of breath. Sitting around like this won’t help me. But as long as it smells like burning outside and I can’t see a few blocks down the street, nope.
I’m keeping an eye on the coast, with the westerly flow here, I suspect they’ll clear out first.

It’s around 200
here but much
lower than forecast
so perhaps there’s hope it’ll be gone mostly
before the end of the week. A little bit of rain yesterday which likely knocked some of it down with the wet
, actually been a while since I
noticed precip
at the house.

We had a random 158 AQI day here in Kansas a couple weeks back. I only went outside to get lunch that day, and I was so sick that entire evening. I can’t imagine anything like what y’all are going through.

It’s how the wind is blowing. The fires are still apocalyptic.

I haven’t been out on my bicycle in weeks. I am fattening.

Things are genuinely awful right now: air quality, politics quality, contagion response... Appallingly awful.

That is awful. Things are awful.

We finally got a big air purifier (had in-laws in Maine buy it and overnight it). Worked like a charm....for about an hour. Shut off and won’t turn back on. On hold with customer service, of course I’m just at the start of a long road of getting the runaround.
Things are awful indeed!

When the president had his rally the other day, afterward, he pronounced that he was safe because all the people were far away from him. I’m surprised the lamestream media didn’t pick up on that one.

I bought a weather station, but need to set it up. I considered buying an air quality gauge, but too much reading has told me that the government’s more sophisticated monitors and algorithms are better to follow.

I believe it. Probably due to visibility constraints where the other airports would turn away flights if there were fog. Like no instrument landing systems. (We have real pilots on this board, not posers like me...)

If the fires continue to rage, I expect the smoke to return.
![]() 09/15/2020 at 16:12 |

Relatively mild in the Bay Area, I don’t think we’ve hit 300, or even much above 200.

Stay positive that they’ll get you sorted out.

It sounds like they were concerned about safety, it’s the right call for sure. I am a loyal Alaska Airlines traveler (at least I was) and they typically provide a good experience.

![]() 09/15/2020 at 16:24 |

Exactly. Rain has to proceed any blue skies, otherwise the smoke will just be blown over someone else and that doesn’t solve anything.
![]() 09/15/2020 at 16:36 |

Hopefully not.
Being North I’m hoping we start getting more rain for the west coast as we’re getting close to fall (I’ d rather have the odd rainy day that this Smokey grey space, even if I can ride in it) . And a nice clear breeze from the north or offshore to clear this stuff out.
![]() 09/15/2020 at 16:44 |

Absolutely, thanks. We have nothing to complain about compared to many folks dealing with this out there. We will be just fine - main concern was our 2 year old breathing smoky air, but we’ve got the house sealed up and fans with DIY filters running well enough that air quality inside is good.

Ironically, the one time I flew Alaska Airlines the destination was Hawai’i...

We’ve stayed inside. I don’t think the house is all that tightly sealed and most of the time, we like it unsealed because Bay Area and we like the cool.

I believe mine, it’s low 30s here and we went to the dog park. I don’t smell smoke out there now.

Since ‘rona, I might be just a little. Trying to have self-discipline, but it lapses now and then. Not being able to get much real activity doesn’t help. Once we get down to about 200 or so, I might get out again.

I’ll have to be below 100, or even maybe below 80 before I’ll exercise.

I was out when it was maybe in the mid-upper 100s last week, was only mildly bad. I’ve gotta get out somehow.
We were almost starting to break up a little this afternoon, socked in again now of course.
